IT Helpdesk Technician, Level 1

The right person will be a self-motivated, eager-to-learn individual with a passion for technology, computer hardware, software, and the Internet. The huge variety of specific disciplines within IT presents several opportunities for you to build a career in tech, although you may not know for sure how you want to specialize. You want to gain entry-level experience and be exposed to a variety of challenges so you can begin learning about the various roles and the contributions they make to a dynamic IT department. However at least one thing is certain; you know you want to start amassing IT experience so that you can start a lifelong career in technology.

Most Important:

  • Tech-savvy
  • Familiar with common troubleshooting techniques
  • Knowledge on how to research tech-related ideas/issues
  • Experience with a wide variety of PC hardware and software
  • Familiar with programming but not necessarily a programmer
  • Experience working with a variety of desktop software and web applications

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with Linux and/or LAMP servers
  • Knowledge on updating & managing DNS
  • Past usage of commonly used business tools (Google Apps, Slack, Trello, etc.)
  • Any IT certifications
  • Agile or Scrum experience
